Shop FAQs

Why can't I login?

If you already have an account and log in details for our website (parkinsons.org.uk), it will now work for the shop.

Account holders for the old shop can create a new account. You'll then have access to the new shop and our online community where you can share helpful information and advice.

Why should I create an account?

You don't need an account to make a purchase from our shop, and you will have the option to 'check out as a guest'. However, creating an account will let you see your orders from our shop in your account, personalise your profile and post in the forum of our online community on the main Parkinson's UK website.

You can manage your account through the 'My Account' link in the top right-hand corner. There, you can maintain all your account information, change your password and activate your Parkinson's UK online community profile. You can also see your past orders.

For more information about your order or its delivery status, please call 0844 415 7863 or email [email protected].

If you forget your password, simply click 'request new password' on the log in screen. You'll be sent an email to take you through the process.

Your details are protected to the highest standards, and we don't share personal information unless expressly stated. For more information, please see our privacy and data protection policy.

How can I place an order?

There are four easy ways to shop with Parkinson's UK:

I'm having problems checking out online

There is a known compatibility issue with Internet Explorer 7 and 8 which means that users may not be able to check out when using this browser. Internet Explorer 7 and 8 are old versions and while we try to accommodate as many users as possible, we aren't always able to accommodate older versions of browsers.

If you're using these, please upgrade to the latest version or use another browser such as Chrome or Firefox.

How can I query delivery, cancellation or return of my order?

Please read full details on delivery, cancellation and returns before getting in touch with our Customer Service team.

I've seen a product in the catalogue but it isn't online

We do our very best to make sure we can fulfil orders, but during peak times there may be occasions where we sell out. Please order early to avoid disappointment.

If we're temporarily out of stock of an item, we will highlight this on the product page. If we're permanently out of stock we will remove the product from the website.

Our catalogues are usually just a selection of seasonal products or ranges. You'll often find a wider choice of items online. If you see a product on our online shop that isn't in your catalogue, you can still order by post if you prefer.

If you've ordered a product that's out of stock, a member of our Customer Service team will contact you to discuss a replacement or refund.

What are Daily Living Aids?

At the request of our members and supporters, Parkinson's UK has carefully chosen a range of products to help make everyday life easier and support independent living. Our products offer practical solutions, to help make essential tasks such as walking, dressing and cooking simpler.

We've chosen all our products to help people with Parkinson's, although they're suitable for people of all ages and abilities. We source our products from reputable manufacturers and make sure they're tested by people with Parkinson's, so you can buy in confidence.

Every person with Parkinson's experiences different symptoms and we strongly advise you to check with your healthcare professional before buying equipment to make sure it's suitable for you.

Several products in the Daily Living Aids range qualify for VAT exemption and are available to buy VAT exempt for those with an eligible medical condition (like Parkinson's).

Please make sure you've read our full details on VAT exemption before ordering.

Gift Aid and donations

What is Gift Aid? Gift Aid logo

Gift Aid is a government scheme allowing charities to reclaim tax on donations UK taxpayers make. This effectively increases a donation without affecting the donor in any way. For every £1 you give Parkinson's UK, we'll get an extra 25p from HM Revenue and Customs.

We won't be able to claim Gift Aid on purchases you make from the online shop. However, if you're a UK taxpayer, with your permission we can claim Gift Aid on any donation you make when placing an order.

How to make a donation

You can donate to Parkinson's UK through our online shop at the point of checkout in two ways:

  • You can specify a donation to be added to your order. You can choose a set amount, or enter your own amount. This will be added to the cost of your order.
  • You can round your shopping basket up to the nearest £1, £5 or £10. For example, when you buy our logo badge for £1.50, you may choose to round to the nearest £5. Your basket will total £5 – £1.50 for your badge, with a £3.50 donation.

How we claim Gift Aid on your donation

If you're a UK taxpayer and want Parkinson's UK to receive Gift Aid on your donation, please tick the Gift Aid declaration at the point of checkout. Your status as a taxpayer will be confirmed and allow Parkinson's UK to claim Gift Aid.

Your declaration will be kept on record by Parkinson's UK. If you'd like to change your Gift Aid status, or if you stop paying tax, please contact us on 0207 932 1344.

Where are your terms and conditions?

You can find our terms and conditions, sometimes called 'The Details', in the back of our catalogues.

You can also read our full terms and conditions online.
