Understanding variability in Parkinson's

They hope to develop a method for diagnosing and predicting the progression of Parkinson's.

Who

250 people diagnosed with Parkinson’s within the last 2 years, who are aged between 45–75 years and can undergo MRI scanning.

The team are also looking for people without Parkinson’s within the same age bracket and people who have been diagnosed with Rapid Eye Movement behavioural disorder.

What

Visiting the research centre 4 times over a 4-year period. Each session will last a maximum of 4 hours. 2 of the visits will involve an hour-long MRI scan and giving a small blood sample. After each visit you will be asked to wear a watch-like device on each wrist to measure movement for a week.
