Improving the diagnosis experience for people with Parkinson's
This guide focuses on how clinicians can improve the diagnosis experience for people with Parkinson's.
Feedback from people affected by Parkinson's has shown that being diagnosed is made all the more difficult by a lack of information and support about what a diagnosis means and what they can do to take control.
To address this, the UK Parkinson's Excellence Network has produced guidance on how to improve the experience of diagnosis. This guide gives tips on how to structure services, improve communication, and increase access to information by signposting to Parkinson's UK newly diagnosed information from the point of diagnosis. This will help make the experience of being diagnosed as positive as possible.
