Following the release of the 2019 National Hip Fracture Database Report, this hybrid conference focuses on improving care for hip fracture patients, using learning from the NHFD findings and improving progress against the NICE quality standard for hip fracture.
Through providing national updates and practical case studies, this conference will draw attention to best practice in hip fracture care, improving the care pathway and outcomes.
There will be a number of sessions throughout the day related to hip fracture care, with topics including:
- improving assessments and reducing delays to theatre
- changing the role of the emergency department
- improving the anaesthetic and surgical pathway
- ensuring prompt mobilisation after surgery.
There will also be a focus on how professionals can reduce confusion and delirium following hip fracture surgery as highlighted by the recent NHFD Report.
