Have you been through the WCA Assessment? What was it like? How should it be improved?

Hi all,

We are about to undertake a project to try and understand the views and experiences of people with Parkinson’s that have been through the Work Capability Assessment (WCA) that decides whether a person qualifies for Employment and Support Allowance.

We would like to invite people who have been through the WCA to a Parkinson’s UK focus group in our office, which will be held sometime between late March and late April.

Participating groups will be asked to discuss things that work well and work poorly about the current WCA and what they would like an ideal WCA to look like.

If you have been through the WCA and would be interested in attending, please get in touch with us by calling 0207 963 3945 or emailing [email protected].

Thanks

Hi again,

I would like to thank everybody who has got in touch already.

If anybody else would like to share their story, or would be interested in participating in an online focus group/discussion about their experiences, please get in touch.

We would like to use the experience of people who have gone through the WCA to try and campaign for the assessment to be better for people with Parkinson's.

If you have been through the WCA, please get in touch with us by calling 0207 963 3945 or emailing [email protected].

Thanks
