PWP in Research

The research team at Parkinson's UK have published a guide to getting people affected by parkinson's involved in research projects. The guide is targeted at researchers setting up new projects and gives them practical advice about how best to include patients and public. I think it is an interesting read for all of us.

Many of us have found that involvement in research is a great way to regain some feeling of control and to learn about the condition. While that is true and helpful the new guide is motivated by something more hard nosed and fundamental. The research team believe that research projects that involve PwP and others affected by the condition lead to better outcomes.

This guide is just one part of a wider campaign to maximise involvement in research. If you want to know more about getting in touch with research then go to:  http://www.parkinsons.org.uk/rsn
