Spinnaker Tower Charity Abseil - 9/4/16

Parkinson's UK are organising this superb opportunity to get some adrenaline flowing and raise funds for the charity.

In case you want to find out more go to http://www.parkinsons.org.uk/content/emirates-spinnaker-tower-abseil

I've signed up to do it so if you, or someone you know isn't doing this or anything else you'd rather donate towards, please consider visiting my just giving fundraising page at http://www.justgiving.com/Spinnaker-Ken-Dewhurst

I hope I haven't broken any rules or caused any concerns by making this post.  If I have, please let me know.

Thank you

I've watched a few videos of others taking the plunge.

Everyone wears a video camera on their helmet so there will be no hiding my emotions on tbe way down.

Oh Ekk

I may need to rename myself  Ken Doh

Kendo - you're much braver than me!

Hi

The day has arrived and I really must get some more sleep. I'll post an update after my drop slot at 11.30.

When Gift-Aid is added on the total is currently just under £1,500.

I'm going to enjoy remembering that every foot I descend will be raising £5.

Apparently the safety rope can only be used to slow you down, not speed you up.

Thank you whoever designed the abseil systems.

Good luck and enjoy the view to all those taking part.

Hope it all went well! I am doing the Guildford Abseil in June so have read with great interest...

Well done on the £1,500 sponsorship money - I need to get a move on to boost what I raise!

I am going to advertise my abseil at my local train station - where I am going to run up and down the stairs (at least 9 times a session!) to build up to the 249 steps I have to climb to get to the top of the Cathedral Tower!

So if Kendo has inspired anyone to have a go at abseiling, then join me in Guildford in June!!

Hi Kendo,

Those videos are wonderful; you are so brave! It's great to see the support you got both high up in the air and on the ground.

Thank you so very much for raising all of that money; it's appreciated!
