I was diagnosed with PD in February 2009 and am being treated with 12mg Ropinirole and Stalevo 150mg 5 times per day.
In August I underwent a hip replacement which went well. A few weeks after the op I was diagnosed with an infection in the wound. I incision was reopened and cleaned out and packed with antibiotic. I was put on three high dose oral antibiotics for 6 weeks. The antibiotics are Rifampicin, Flucloxacillin and Ciprofloxacin. Ten days into the antibiotics course I noticed a marked reduction in my Parkinson's symptoms.It seems that Rifampicin may be the cause..news.ucsc.edu/2004/11/600.html refers.
