Survey of people with parkinsons for up to 30 years

Conclusions:
In a large sample of PD outpatients we found that disease progression may be extremely variable. Dementia, psychosis and dysphagia are not invariable features of PD, even when disease duration is over 30 years.
Thanks turnip. Sure gives one hope (aged 62). I acknowledge the setting bias, but not sure which direction the researchers expect it to operate in.

a previous Sydney Uni survey had much more negative results due to taking older people, this one took more young people and got more positive results.

A possible conclusion could be that the two sub-types early/late are a major effect on prognosis. And that 'everyone is different.'
