Walk for Parkinson's - Calder Valley
Join us for our Walk for Parkinson's around the beautiful Calder Valley.
- Start and finish: Meet at Mytholmroyd Community Centre. We will be transporting the walkers to the start of the walk at Hollingworth Lake Country Park
- Minimum sponsorship: £50 suggested
- Advance registration: £12 for adults and £5 for under 16s
- On-the-day registration fee: £15 for adults and £5 for under 16s
- Registration opens: 9am
- Start time: 10.30am
- Route: 8 miles and 15 miles
Come and enjoy a walk along the Rochdale Canal through the Calder Valley and into Hebden Bridge.
We suggest that all walkers aim to raise at least £50. Your entry fee goes towards the cost of organising the walk, but by raising £50 in sponsorship, you can make a huge difference to the lives of people with Parkinson’s.
Dogs: Dogs are allowed on the walk although there are several points where we have to cross the road so must be kept under close control.
Accessibility: There are sections where you have to walk across a narrow plank bridge to avoid the overflow of canal water so not so suitable for buggies or wheelchairs.
Toilets: There are toilets at Mytholmroyd and the Hollingworth Lake visitors centre where the walk starts and at cafes/pubs in Todmorden and Hebden Bridge along the route.
Refreshments: There will be refreshments available at the centre at the end of the walk
Car park: There is parking at Mytholmroyd Community Centre with an honesty box and suggested payment amount.
Walk packs: Your walk T-shirt and fundraising pack will be sent soon after your registration and your number and on the day information will be sent the week prior to the walk.
Registration: Please note registration closes just over a week prior to the event. On-the-day registration will be available but will be cash only and will cost £15 for adults and £7.50 for under 16s.
