
Walk for Parkinson's - Calder Valley 2018
Join us for our Walk for Parkinson's around the beautiful Calder Valley.
Event location
- Start and finish: Meet at Mytholmroyd Community Centre. We will be transporting the walkers to the start of the walk at Hollingworth Lake Country Park
- Minimum sponsorship: £50 suggested
- Registration fee: £10 for adults and £5 for under 16s
- Registration opens: 9am
- Start time: 10:30am
- Route: 8 miles and 15 miles

Come and enjoy a walk along the Rochdale Canal through the Calder Valley and into Hebden Bridge.
What you'll receive
Take part in a Walk for Parkinson’s in 2018 and help raise vital funds for people affected by Parkinson’s. Every step will take us closer to a cure.
All our walkers will receive the best support from us, including:
- A Walk for Parkinson's T-shirt
- Fundraising advice, including a fundraising pack
- Support with your training
- A finisher's medal

More details
Dogs: Dogs are allowed on the walk although there are several points where we have to cross the road so must be kept under close control
Accessibility: there are sections where you have to walk across a narrow plank bridge to avoid the overflow of canal water so not so suitable for buggies or wheelchairs.
Toilets: there are toilets at Mytholmroyd and the Hollingworth Lake visitors centre where the walk starts and at cafes/pubs in Todmorden and Hebden Bridge along the route
Refreshments: There will be refreshments available at the centre at the end of the walk
Car park: There is parking at Mytholmroyd Community Centre with a honesty box and suggested payment amount
Walk packs: which include your walk t-shirt and number will be sent out 2 weeks prior to the walk.
Registration: Please note registration closes 1 week prior to the event. On the day registration will be available but will be cash only and will cost £15 for adults and £7.50 for under 16s.
