The Mervyn Peake Awards are a celebration of the creative
talents of people with Parkinson's.
We aim to encourage and inspire creativity in memory of the late
artist and writer Mervyn Peake (1911–1968), a
much-admired artist and writer who had Parkinson's.
2012 Mervyn Peake Awards
Entries are now open for the 2012 Mervyn Peake Awards!
Anyone with Parkinson's can enter their work into the following
3 categories:
I left school more than 50 years ago and hadn't painted again until I heard about the Mervyn Peake Awards. Since then, I have been painting on canvas and have found a new hobby I enjoy.
Digital work can be entered into our art or photography
categories, depending on which is more appropriate for your
work.
If you've never painted, taken a photo or written a poem before,
don't let it stop you!
How to enter
To enter photography, art or poetry, just post us your entry
along with a completed Mervyn Peake Awards 2011 entry
form (PDF, 830KB).
The closing date for all entries is 31 March
2012.
Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each category at
our awards reception in London in July.
