A gift in your Will: Solicitors' guide
The following information is for solicitors of clients
who would like to leave a gift in their Will to the Parkinson's
Disease Society.
Charity details
Please make sure you use our full name, address and registered
charity number in the Will:
Parkinson's Disease Society of the United Kingdom (Charity
Registered in England and Wales No. 258197 and in Scotland No.
SC037554) whose registered office is at 215 Vauxhall Bridge Road,
London SW1V 1EJ.
Example wording
We suggest the following wording is used:
Residuary legacy
"I give all (or …% of) the residue of my estate to the Parkinson's
Disease Society of the United Kingdom of 215 Vauxhall Bridge Road,
London SW1V 1EJ (Charity registration in England and Wales No.
258197 and in Scotland No. SC037554) for its general purposes and I
declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer
for the time being hereof shall be sufficient discharge to my
executors."
Pecuniary or specific legacies
"I give to the Parkinson's Disease Society of the United Kingdom
of 215 Vauxhall Bridge Road, London SW1V 1EJ (Charity registration
in England and Wales No. 258197 and in Scotland No. SC037554)
the sum of £... (or item) for its general purposes and I
declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer
for the time being hereof shall be sufficient discharge to my
executors."
