Matthew's run

I decided to run the London
Marathon for the PDS because my late grandmother struggled with
Parkinson’s for the last 17 years of her life.
It was her struggle that
gave me the drive to go out and train in the pouring rain, dark
evenings and even after Sunday lunches.
To help my fundraising I
decided to organise a ball. I had such an amazing response from
friends and family that I even had to set up a waiting list for
tickets.
Some very kind people sent
me sponsorship money even though they couldn’t come!
When Marathon Sunday
actually arrived I felt nervous - I didn’t know anyone, but
the PDS email forum made me feel part of a team and one that I was
proud to run for!
Thank you to all my sponsors
and the crowds for their amazing support along the whole route!
Would I do it again? You bet I
would!
