Themed research workshops
Themed
research workshops offer support of up to £5,000 to UK researchers
to set up meetings to tackle important challenges in Parkinson's
research.
Organising a workshop will help you bring the right
people together, get to the heart of complex issues and stimulate
new research ideas.
Applications are open from 24 November 2011 on an ongoing
basis.
Purpose
Themed research workshops will be led by 1 or 2 researchers.
They will work with Parkinson's UK to bring people together
to focus on a key research topic.
The workshops may involve:
- discussing an emerging topic of scientific importance in
Parkinson's
- developing an innovative or translational research
idea
- stimulating cross-discipline discussions
Outcomes
Organising a workshop will help you bring the right people together, get to the heart of complex issues and stimulate new research ideas.
Outcomes must be agreed with Parkinson's UK at the outset and
will be followed up after the workshop.
These could include:
- applications for research grant funding
- publications such as discussion papers or review
articles
- setting up a research consortium
Eligibility
We encourage applications from basic scientists, clinicians and
healthcare professionals based at UK research institutions.
