Research funding process

As a member of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC), we ensure that only the best quality research is funded.

Each application is rigorously assessed by an independent panel of experts. This guarantees that every penny donated towards research will benefit people with Parkinson's.

AMRC peer review audit 2011 logoIn 2011 we passed the AMRC peer review audit, which takes place every 5 years.

Our plan to cure Parkinson's

Our plan to cure Parkinson'sOver the next 5 years our ambitious research strategy will help push our search for a cure to a new level by tackling 4 key challenges:

  • understanding why nerve cells die in Parkinson's
  • developing new animal models of Parkinson's
  • faster, better drug screening
  • finding 'biomarkers' to allow earlier diagnosis
