hi Gazelle,

PLEASE ACCEPT MY SINCERE APOLIGES FOR NOT WELCOMING YOU.

I know both cutiepie and pokermid and can reassure you they have worn the DA side effects tee shirt. When it comes to getting advise on how to cope with the fallout and start rebuilding your life, they are better placed to help than anyone else i can think of.

all the best

hi Ray,

I'm not into all the multiple user ID abuse and game playing. So can you please elaborate on who JD is, and what you mean by your comments last night re R.DOPA and titan?

Hi Bluey.

"ray of dopa" is a new ID who came in last night, straight into this thread, when the only others logged on were Titan and myself. He started making silly comments and at first I thought it was Titan messing about on a different ID (sorry Titan).

However after a while he made a couple of references which identified him as an old stalker of mine from about 18 months ago, a would-be internet bully who had followed my trial and - despite the judge's ruling - decided I was guilty and should be hounded and exposed by vigilantes such as him. He obtained my name and address and those of my GP, Neuro and Professorial witness. In the latter case also details about the actual building in which the Professor worked, and my appointments there.

This is what you get for trying to publicise a problem and warn others. My case was all over national and local papers, and thanks to the latter (with photos) I became a suject of much local abuse for quite a while.

If only I'd exercised a bit more self control in the first place none of this would have happened! lol

Ray.

Guys,

This is to all of you...on or off dopamine agonists drugs......

I had no right to get so shirty last night...I know only too well what the drugs do to your mind..whether you realise it is happening or not....how paranoid you become....how 'up for a row' you become......how desperate for any sort of attention from other internet users. All your emotions are heightened and your posts, which make perfect sense when you write them, can be quite an eye opener when read months 'after the event'.

I'm not here to judge or critisise.....only to add my story and support. So i'm sorry for being so moral....especially as my morals went so firmly out of the window whilst 'under the influence'.....

Please accept my good wishes to you all
regards
Sue

Dear all,
We are closing this thread.

This thread was started after a previous one on the same subject matter was closed. At that time, there was an outcry on the forum about the fact that users were not being allowed to share vital information on the effects of dopamine agonists.

A campaign was started on the forum which turned out to be very effective and resulted in a meeting at Parkinson's UK on how we could move forward on that issue. This is turn has shaped an action plan for the organisation.

Others joined the thread and stated that they were grateful for the information they had received.

However, since that time, the tone of the thread has seriously deteriorated and runs the risk of changing the tone of the entire forum. Users have to wade through pages of arguments in order to access useful information.

For these reasons, we feel the best way forward is to close it. No doubt, there will be those who disagree with this decision however, it is in the best interest of keeping the forum moving forward.

Though the thread will be closed, we will leave it on the forum so
the experiences and opinions of those who have posted remain.

If you need support in dealing with the effects of dopamine agonists or would like more information, please contact the confidential helpline at 0808 800 0303.

If you would like to feed information to our campaigns team, contact Sachin Shah at sshah [at] parkinsons.org.uk

If there are questions or concerns about our decision, do feel free to contact us as normal.
