Welcome to our humble sett, make yourself comfortable; have a doze if you wish.

If you need to build up the fire there are plenty more logs over here.

If you're peckish there are of sweet & savoury snacks on the dresser.

Tea, coffee and other drinks are in the kitchen here.

Jacket potatoes will be ready in about 10 minutes.

Sorry, but strictly no ferrets.

Oh glory be, a new retreat for the old badgers, how wonderful. I sure am in need of a retreat, well a hidey hole at any rate this morning. I am a badger in pain today and being a pain to those around me no doubt. I just want peace from excercises and another hour to collect my enegry before having a shower. So here I will take my rest till I feel able to cope.

Nice to see you ROS you have done a lovely job of the BI, Pebble and AB will be glad to have a soft place to fall.....

Oh yes indeed, what a wonderful place to come upon.
I too Radz am in and being an absolute pain, but am sure that in my case it is more to do with self-indulgent self -pity as opposed to your understandable discomfort. Sorry, discomfort is far too mild a description of what you must be going through.

One little (rather nosey Q Radz) I have the impression that you are a smoker ( and I have no problems with that - there are far worse things to be) I just wondered if your enforced spell of abstinance has lessened the desire for nicotine?

One little thing about ferrets . I stayed with some friends in , or rather near Scarborough). The children had 2 pet ferrets called Harry and Ron. When they were brought in for their 2X daily play time (the ferrets not the children), I was given a boiler suit to wear, and plenty of antiseptic for the bites

Ouch!

How people can keep ferrets as pets beats me!

You guessed right AB....for my sins I am a smoker. Whilst in hospital it never bothered me NOT having a smoke, didn't even crave for one. Yet on coming home the first thing I did was light up. I have cut down considerably but as soon as my dander gets up I reach for the packet. To me it is better than munching my way through a box of chocolates. I know I will be able to stop again 2 weeks before the next op, maybe the time will come when Mr Will Power will keep me off them for good.

On the topic of ferrets......Daddy had a few that he used when out hunting, slippery, nippy little creatures they are nice as nine pence one minute and the next take a lump out of your arm. Don't like them at all, smelly with it as well.

Hope your day gets better AB.....xx

my daughter keeps fererts had erm since they were little, they nipped when little but if u train them not to like any animal it will work, she puts little leads and harneses on erm and takes them for walks, they play with toys of theres in her gardin ,i admit they have very sharp teeth ,so does hamsters and u no wot it like when one of them grabs ya,but im not sayin they dont nip, hers but they are the way they brought up and trained to do things.and hers and many other friends of hers whom have them brought up this way are the same.if they are for huntin complete different story,if they are not got out and played with regualar and showed lots of affention ,they get pigged off i guess, just like us snappin at someone tellin erm to back off.smileanyway ,fires all prepared and roarin away now,and baked potato was lovely

This sounds like just the place I need. Had a tooth out yesterday so I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today. I'll just find a nice comfy spot to curl up and snooze in front of that nice log fire!

Oh, a nice cozy spot....the fire is so nice! Been cloudy, chilly here....furnace still being worked on...
good to see you again, ROS.........wink

Time for a nice cuppa tea, and a new book to read....(o/h gave me one for Christmas....not my kind of book...plan to give it away...horrors!) Wont tell...he'd be upset...it is much more than I could ever handle...

A murder mystery...Agatha Christie type ...would be good.
Hope everyone is feeling ok today.smilexx
