hello to everyone, firstly would like to say how help full this site is and how friendly everyone is.

my story is my mother was diagnosed with PD a few years ago and so I learned the basic things to know about PD.
I myself am suffering with major depression and I am under a psychiatrist, before this diagnosis of my depression I would quiet often have tremors in my hands and i thought this is due to me feeling anxious and sad, they would be worse sometimes and some days i would not have tremors at all, then i notice my left arm started feeling weird, a numb feeling ,i thought it was nothing and a few's days later it seemed better. then i happened again and this time it lasted some days it felt worse than others, then my tremors seemed to be more noticeable and more often, even when i am not anxious.
i went to my gp and explained about my mum and my tremors and arm and he did afew movement checks on my arms and neck and said he could see no physical signs of PD, but has referred me to a specialist.
my worries are am i over reacting about my symtoms because of my mum and it a sign of depression. i know i will see the specialist but not for a few weeks and i need some piece of mind, i hope i'm making sense.

thank you

Kate

I presume that you are taking antidepressant medication? The side effects of some of these can also account for your symptoms of shaking arm/hands. Inherited PD is not very common, so do not assume worst case scenario (I know,a point not easily taken by a person suffering from depression)
