Hi Peter & Chris
I was DX 8 weeks ago and started meds 3 weeks ago - had problems with the first dose of Ropinerole and scared the hell out of myself. I get a bit scared thinking of the future but then i come on here and see how well people deal with this. I have picked up so much from this crowd in the way of support, information & keeping my sense of humour, they are the best medicine there is at times. I have only been using the site for 4 or 5 weeks but I would be lost without this crowd.
P.S. join the queue for one of Ali's famous bacon butties!!!!!

My husband was diagnosed last year at age 60.He has a right hand tremor which sometimes appears on the left hand.He only takes a rasagaline tablet daily. He was advised to stay off other medication as long as he can.He still works in an office full time and walks every day to keep fit.Pleased to meet you.

Hi Chris, Peter, Francis,
Welcome to the forum. It's an interesting a varied place with lots of info and experience to hand. I've had PD 6 years, been on meds for 1, well worth it as they make life sooooo much more pleasant, I never walk down the road or wield a pen now without smiling at the improvement :-) I continue to work f/t and aim to enjoy this year as I can do things now that I couldn't for a while before the meds kicked in. I'm 39. Nice to 'meet' you all.
Jo

Thanks everyone. Really nice to hear from you all. I`m still bewildered by it all. Decided against telling my children as yet.Nothing much to say, and want to carry on looking after my grand children and having an "ordinary" life---whatever that is!
Husband great, but doesn`t know what`s hit him.

Welcome aboard Frances. I also have grand children and find them the best medicine you could possibly have. If they want me to run around and kick a football I have to jolly well run around and kick a football. No excuses!
They make me feel valued and that I still have something to contribute. I never get depressed and I am optimistic that a cure for Parkinson's will soon be found, or at least better meds will be available.
