I was dx last July and take no meds. Main symptoms - tremor and weakness left arm and hand, and an occasional limp. I still work in an office job.

On my last visit to my neuro (when I was refusing meds) he commented that tremor dominant PWP may sometimes have a slower decline rate.

Fingers crossed biggrin

Hello and welcome to the forum Chris and Peter. I have been dx for ten years now and I retired three years ago, due to my pd. I too have a shake, mainly left side leg and arm, Ive just been told I now have dyskensia, but hey onward and upward.

I'm sure that you will both find the forum useful and supportive. It's the place to be to learn more about your condition and to find a shoulder to cry on when you feel down. I hope to see you both around the site.

HI Peter
I'm 5 yrs in too and apparently doing well; on no meds; still working.
It seems everyone responds differently to this very challenging condition so those of us who seem to have slow or mild versions are lucky and needn't dread the worst.
There are some great people on this forum, making the best of whatever life and pd throws their way; keep in touch!

Hi Peter and Chris.

I'm Ray, aged 60, dx 10 yrs ago, although with hindsight I can now recognise PD symptoms going back to the 1970s. I took early retirement at the end of 2003, age 53, and live in Hull.

There are plenty of folk on here who can provide experience and understanding, or just a shoulder if needed. Alternatively it's good for a straightforward natter, or playing games and puzzles.

Many of us sleep badly, so there's usually someone around 24 x 7. Hope to chat soon.

Ray.

Hello Peter and Chris, Welcome to the forum.I have just joined the forum too,and it's an interesting place. I was diagnosed two months ago and am on no meds and hoping to be able to manage that for a while. I look forward to your input, and I know you'll learn a lot here. Regards, Carole.

Welcome Peter and Chris.I've been DX 6yrs had problems way before. Someone said to me the other day ,they wouldn't have known I had PD.I just thought to myself my acting skills are improving.I always try to think positive. When I was first DX i used to think about this PD all the time .Now I just live with it.All the best.
