I am right in thinking that you are saying that a manufacturer has 'gagged' a member of our community? How?
That is a disgusting and probably illegal thing to do.
I will stand next to him to fight that issue!
Open discussion is a basic right.
Please tell us more details

You can fight and lose or you can fight and win. What will you be awarded? Money to replace what has been spent gambling? All well and good but nothing can compensate for the lost relationships, there is not enough money in the world to make up for the loss of trust and love.Marriages have been destroyed and will never be the same again because as we know gambling was/is not the only obsession.
Fight the bastards, yes please. Show them up for the shysters they are, it has been done before and it can be done again but these are big Corporations with slick lawyers and they will do whatever is necessary to muddy your name. They may not come out of it looking too rosy but I bet you my last penny ( I'm almost down to my last penny) they will leave their antagonist with your reputation in tatters

The only gagging order that I'm aware of, is one stopping individuals who were part of a recent class action lawsuit, from talking about their out of court settlements.
Goldengirl, i shall chase the campaign team to ensure they get a full campaign update out via the website within the next two weeks.

Hi Spam95
I wish I could give all the details of the legal injunction gagging one of our community.
I can't in case it lands him/her in trouble for telling me,
I am assured that legal advice is that it is entirely watertight and s/he has no altrnative but to be bound by it as the case against the DA manufacturer was lost on a technicality.
There will be huge financial penalties for breaking the injunction.
It is up to the people involved to decide whether to offer any more details.
I am now of the opinion that only by fighting together can we ever win against these greed-obsessed destroyers of so many lives.
Blue-eyes, you have a mountain to climb but we are with you every step of the way.

Hi.
Debt Collectors
A quick word of warning for anyone who's ended up heavily in debt as a result of compulsive behaviour attributable to dopamine agonist side effects.
Do not be fooled by the numerous adverts you see on TV by people like Experian who promise to help you sort out your finances by letting you have access to your latest credit record/score for only a pound or two each month.
They cannot possibly make any money by providing this information to customers so cheaply - especially with all those advertising campaigns to pay for. And besides, if you do want that information it can be obtained by you for next-to-nothing anyway, without involving snoopers like them.
What they are really after, of course, is getting hold of the names, addresses, telephone numbers, e-mails and bank details of individuals they are attempting to track down for the repayment of alleged debts.
In my own case I have a legal judgment in my favour provided by a Crown Court judge in 2009 which confirms that I cannot be held responsible for any debts incurred by me between 2000 and 2007, as my ability to properly understand what was going on around me had at that time been severely impaired by the prescribed medication (Cabergoline) I was then being given for PD. At no time throughout that period did I receive any written or verbal warning about such side effects.
And yet the collectors still come a-knocking with their county court orders and threats of bailiffs, and if I had a fiver for every half-hour we've spent explaining the judgment time after time to assorted neanderthals I'd be able to move away from this delightful urban encampment.
Ray.
p.s. My 23-year-old, 17-stone, 6ft 3in stepson lives at home with us and works evenings/nights as a night club bouncer. I suspect his daytime presence may, on occasion, have been helpful in explaining our position.

could you ask him to drop in to Bradford Council and explain nicely to them that if they have a courts summons to send to Australia it doesn't do to send it by second class mail (guaranteed 12 week delivery).
Ray is quite right about Experian, their main income is selling data to the banks for credit risk analysis.
Does that court gagging order (max penalty - there is no max, including jail) not show how sensitive they are to bad publicity?

Hi all
I havn't read this whole thread but was very interested in the before and after 2007, no warnings and then warnings - and that since 2007 it is up to the individual themselves to stop taking the drugs if they suffer side effects because they have been warned about the side effects and know. And I must admit to having a problem with this. The person I have in mind started taking da's before 2007. Before starting the drug he had spent his life securing financial security for him and his family. He owned his own home had 100,000 plus savings, never gambled except to put a bet on the grand national and had a secure job with a very good works pension. Since going on da's which he started before 2007, he bought houses he couldn't afford which have been respossessed and he now owes the money for, his savings have gone, he remortgaged his own house and gambled tens of thousands of pounds and spent 24 hours a day playing golf, and you can imagine what effect this has on his family. But - and this is my point, his consultant still says to this day his behaviour has nothing to do with the drugs and he 'obviously has his reasons for what he is doing' and that he is on the best drug available for parkinsons and keeps prescribing it. The person in question won't change drugs because he obviously wants the 'best drug available' and says everything that has happened has nothing to do with the drugs. His eyes are glazed over, he is unable to hold a normal conversation, and is what I can only describe as hyper/ buzzing all the time.
As he started before 2007 but the consultant won't prescribe anything else - where does he fit in the senario above???
