Parkies People

Tickled with laughter and shaking with mirth,
Benji was lolling for all he was worth
Told of a story with dolls as the joke,
Benji embarrassed by naughty boy Poke.

Grumpy and Poker were once in conflict,
Not a nice subject you’d like to depict.
Some talk of fighting and getting fat lips,
That’s all behind us and our spreading hips.

Lin is a treasure and words a good rhyme,
Queen of our poems, well, most of the time!
Struggles with sweeties, it shows in her post.
Down in weight watchers, shes losing the most.

Bb the carer and greatest of soul,
Heart of this forum is her favoured role.
Temper and anger have no place within,
Truthful and honest without any sin!

Carrots a Ginga whose just found a book,
Maybe a rare one, can we have a look?
First of editions on Palsy disease.
Could it make money? Oh lots, if you please.

Sejvej’s a poet of class rhyme and verse,
Taking some Requip put her in reverse.
Raising a motion, a good one, if said,
lets get it moving and start a new thread.

Chewies the expert on Pylori germ,
Starting a programme that’s for the long term.
Regime in diet and mixtures of oils,
Extracts of goodness and PD it foils.

Tina’s a soldier and stands on parade,
Helping us Parkies throughout this charade.
Raising awareness of PD for us,
When we are needed, lets get on her bus!

Cutie crusader, has she really changed?
Am I the cynic that’s acting deranged?
Should I forsake her and keep status quo,
Maybe tomorrow I’ll just up and go!!

SF and quizzes. Do they really gel?
Stars and the Planets refuse to excel.
Follow the Bluebell to easier shores,
Stir up the brain cells, not mine, I mean yours!

Great poem Poker
Sadly after initial excitement that I had a very rare and very valuable book (only 1 copy in USA libraries and 2 in UK!) I have been told that it is only what's called a fascimile copy and therefore worth about $25. Oh well..it was very interesting to read and only cost me 80p. Perhaps this week my lottery ticket will come in.

Great poem Poker,
Thank you for the mention, you seem to have a great insight of everyone.
And a marvellous memory!
Thanks again Pokermid.

Tell you a secret, always want to call you Polkadot! (sorry about that.)
Enjoy the rest of the weekend. We are off to Brighton this evening to see a concert - first one for a while.
Take care and keep on keeping us all entertained.
Bless you,
bb

Sunday 30th November 2 pm cry

Panic and crisis and rushing about
Turn off the water I heard hubbie shout
What on earths happened I yell in reply
Then water poured through the ceiling
I didn’t know why!

Towels, mops and buckets
Were hastily sought
Saucepans and basins
It was gallons I caught

Lounge ceiling bulging
I poked a big hole
Down came more water
And filled up my bowl

Upstairs was a fountain
From beneath bedroom floor
Now water was flowing
Right under the door

Like a headless chicken
I shuffled upstairs
As the floor got ripped up
For the plumbing repairs

Trembling and shaking
I just couldn’t speak
Just watched on in horror
Whilst Steve mended the leak

Sejvej

I can think of better ways to have spent a Sunday afternoon! We’re still a bit soggy but fortunately no serious damage done.

Apology accepted...........and no offence was taken at all.

Just intrigued as to how you assumed the gender....the name I suppose.

The name is that of our much loved rescue Irish Wolfhound/lurcher.

Land ahead
Anchors away
Stand by the yardarm
And secure the mainsail
Prepare to lower the launch
England is in that direction
You will pay for this Mr Christian

Life awaits
But take courage
The stars will guide you
And your two loyal crew
This sextant is good and true
Go back the way we came before
Head for the Antipodean shore
