Hi,
Posh bird you are special,no need for a vax
Sit down, put your feet up,have a pd relax
Lin the schoolteacher, that half shuffle Tango remains
Not just poet corners Queen, but the reliever of pains
Annebernadette, you are guarded, but always offering protection
I could hug you so tight, for last nights timely connection
Bogman to know that you are there, same applies
Love that calm Irish voice and that gleam in your eyes
BJS,soon we meet,a few pints play some pool
Strong,honest,sincere and nobody's fool
Lorna,my Angel who has stayed by my side
Through all the ups and downs on this odd pd ride
A collection of people and i'm proud to shout out
Thanks for all your support whilst I work issues out
Plus all those unmentioned and Ezinder for your understanding.
Titan x
A random poem now, because ive left it there standing
Random
------------
Day turns to night, night turns to day
Are these marks on my arms ever going away
A reminder of pain forever eternal
Cast into the furnace a phoenix infernal
Which rises surveys then retires to dark slumbers
Can emotionally crumble as if painting by numbers
Wings all ablaze with a feathery doubt
Screams then recoils after letting all out
Frustration is stationary but also it moves
Seeps through the floorboards and nestles on rooves
On houses unholy and those hypocrites
Who religiously shed sins, cross their legs,do the splits
Then poke fun at the sun,at the moon and the stars
Sit back like a tycoon, sucking massive cigars
Inhale till they throw up the remains of their life
Unless blessed with luck and a tolerant Wife
Does it make any difference as long as it's real
When upset, don,t you cry?release all that you feel
A human pressure cooker that's just letting off stream,
The hissing is loud, good,it stifles the scream
As frustrated you stand,in this fight to be free
Of all other restraints, even before this pd
All those blocks that build structure and purpose in life
Can rebuild with a forum which acknowledges strife

Dear Lin
I would just like to say a big 'thank you' for the beautiful booklet of poetry, which has just arrived and which I shall look forward to reading from start to finish.
I am truly amazed that you managed to find anything I had written, as I have contributed so little. It must have taken you ages to trawl through all the postings to find the ones you wanted.
The title is perfect and I love the cover picture, too.
Thank you once again.
Love Lily x

Once a humble turnip camped by a billabong
Under the shade of a coolibah tree,
And he sang as he watched and waited till his copy came
"I'm really looking forward to the poems by me."
Reading my poems, reading my poems
"You'll come a-reading my poems, with me"
And he sang as he watched and waited till his copy came,
"You'll come a-reading my poems, with me."
Down came a postie to drink at that billabong,
Up jumped the turnip and grabbed him with glee,
And he sang as he shoved the poems in his tucker bag,
"You'll come a-reading my poems, with me."
Up rode the publisher, mounted on her thoroughbred,
Down came the critics, one, two, three,
"there's better ryhmes than your in that book in your tucker bag"
"You'll volunteer a donation to puk with me."
Up jumped the turnip and sprang into the billabong,
"You'll never make me donate to a charity", said he,
And his ghost may be heard as you pass by that billabong,
"You'll come a-reading my poems, with me."
Reading my poems, reading my poems
"You'll come a-reading my poems, with me"
And his ghost may be heard as you pass by that billabong,
"You'll come a-reading my poems, with me."

Thanks for your thanks everybody.
Turnip - I'm sorry you are having to wait for your copy - it was posted on Monday (21st May). I will sing your marvellous version of Waltzing Matilda and hope that your booklet hurries on its way!

Nonsense
I love dancers and want to dance
Loving chancers who want to chance
Romantic, and love romance
Embrace my life and want to prance
Hate pd wont go away, bloody thing just wants to stay
Love my family and friends too! without you don't know what I'd do
Love my children I'm like a kid
On my life it's kept the lid
My life is full of simple pleasures
These things are my greatest treasures
As the years now pass like ages
The warmth I receive from the sages
As I read through at my liesure
A small book of poetic charm
Keeps me bouyant safe from harm
Love your laughter love your verse
Stops this poem getting worse
So my friends I wish to say
Please my comrades don't go away
Please continue to post on the thread
your poems really must be read!

I am sorry to follow BJ's happy one with the following but then we have always had diverse verse!! I wanted to write something in the style of Titan because he says he can tell mine without having to look for my name.I hope the old Titan will be back with us soon and he delivers a kick in the nuts to the black dog .
The despair prayer.
Why did he take me away from me?
Why did he not just let it all be?
I was in control of muscles, thoughts and limbs
With the wave of his hand I was gone.
My children still see what they want to see
While I torture you girl with constantcy.
I have changed her forever, she is dying
I have driven her personality underground
Why can’t I stop, step back from the edge
We cannot live much longer like this
My psychosis imposes and disposes
Please girl, please forgive me.
I see my mind now like that of a child
All the pills do is free my limbs for awhile
But my brain is indifferent, selfish you say
The processor is useless without a display
You scream I must change I must reform
I look at the sky and the gathering storm
Despair at the thought of the final decree
So I pray to my God to remake the old me.

And my answer would always be an attempt at writing a sonnet...
The selfish jaws, wide open, spell despair,
And darkest thoughts stain paper pure and white.
From lonely place to heaven, problems share,
From gloom to glow needs help to see the light.
When trouble looms and will not disappear,
And gladness sinks too deep to be retrieved,
The thick mist falls, your exit is unclear,
A tortured mind, too full to be relieved.
Then shout aloud and we will hear your call,
And to your side will fly on silver wings,
With caring friends who catch before the fall,
Strong bonds to tie with sturdy loving strings.
No person here can fight this on their own,
We are one voice, you’ll never walk alone.

A poetry site I used to contribute to - often set a challenge - eg write a poem with the following words in it ...
So - I'm offering/setting a challenge
A poem or story or joke or song (not THE song though!) with the words
You'll Never Walk Alone
