To Posh

Thanks for your kind comment, which I don't deserve!

I tried to incorporate your challenge, Lin!

Thanks for sending the book, I think it's really good to have so many on record now.

I would be.

The Maid of Exmoor I would be.
I hide behind her name.
In Blackmore's book, runs wild and free
wish I could do the same.
You call me strong, but it's a trick.
Like others, I pretend
that on some days: 'No way I'm sick'
and strong signs I will send.
Sometimes a 'mail' or chat on phone
can help another's mood.
Song says 'You'll never walk alone'
Right words can be 'soul'food.

glaciers melt at a quickening rate
the ganges plain is Everest's fate
the sun will age and make us toast
sooner than Australia post

as Dr Frank N Furter said, it all adds to the anticipaaaaaation

liked your garden poem especially Lin

A waltzing we will go
Side by side toe to toe
The waltz is a beautiful dance
Full of grace and elegance
So why does my body refuse to move
I simply can't get into the groove

So all you parkies out there
Lets start a new dance if we dare
A shuffle and roll is the theme I propose
Not an elegant dance with curled up toes
Ginger Rodgers, Fred Astaire, we will never be
Unique in our own way, thats the way it has to be.

The Last Waltz
----------------------
My heads in a spin, the Waltzer is hurting
Round and around,it's quite disconcerting
My backs to the wall in this spinning device
The ride of my life, but not very nice

Now and again comes that push, extra spin
Throws upwards and out, what should be within
I want to get off,yet yearn to stay on
The tickle is good, would miss it if gone

Weighing up now if enjoying this compulsive ride
It's fun with a friend to hold on by your side
But if rolling and sliding about on your own
This Waltz riding dance can turn you to stone

Struck catatonic from crazy contortions
Heart in the mouth, ignoring the cautions
Dance with the Devil,he's ***** as hell
He,s checking his list,i,m on it as well

Can I get of this ride, please make it stop please
Stagger Dizzy and trip, prayer like down on my knees
Saw a mirrored image of similar proportions
A doppeldanger absorbed going through strange contortions

Does the Buzz, does the thrill have you caught in it's grip
Walk away and ignore, even though you might slip
Think, clear your head, bring that brain back in gear
Don,t look back, though temptation nibbles your ear

Waltzer music beats loud as you exit the fair
The silence now seems loud, amplifies the despair
Waltzers are good, but just weigh up the risk
Could lead to divorce or a painful slipped Disc

Nice one Titan I used to love the waltzes at the fair.
However slipped disc or divorce both painful, believe me. x

I'm feeling dizzy just reading about all that waltzing-so heading back to You'll never walk alone. Walking will do just fine.

ONE NIGHT

He came to me that night,
As I woke from troubled dreams,
A figure from the past,outlined
In typical pose it seems,
To comfort me in my time of need.

On that night he'd been gone a year,
My father, now stood at the foot of my bed,
Leaning over protectively, to be near
His daughter whom he loved so much.

A man of few words, in such a soft tone,
He whispered, whispered in my ear-
Fear not. You'll never walk alone.

His words envelopped me
Like the duvet on my bed,
Comforting, warming my heart inside,
I am always with you,he said.

The dreams are long forgotten
Now my father's at my side,
Encouraging me to cope with life-
It's as though he never died.

Feelings

If only I could feel
I was no longer on that wheel
Spinning round and round
Screaming without sound
Oh what would I give
For a minute just to live
Without shaking
Without aching

To lay in the embrace
Of my loved one and not face
Another day of taking pills
Meant to alleviate my ills
How precious would that be
A few moments he and me
Without groaning
Without moaning

But PD rules our life
And he tends this ailing wife
Ever asking ‘how are you
Is there anything I can do?’
So together day by day
We try to find a way
Without fears
Without tears

Dear AB,

I just sit here repeating over and over again " I wrote those words".

I love the whole darn thing! Thank you onre and all. Figi for the cup!!

Here's Haul...Haul The Nets 2

Homeward bound a trawler sails, belly full of herring.
Bound for Westport with our catch, hope to make a shilling
Steady boy’s now steady, batten down that hatch
Let us be the first to land and profit from our catch.

Chorus 1
Haul the anchor the sea is calling
Ring the bell the glass is falling
To chase the fish in search of gold
Haul the nets and fill the hold

Sing a song to Jesus ask for guidance from above
Profit from our catch and make some time for love
Work harder now my boys bend your back as you toil
Just think it wont be long ‘til we walk on holy soil

Chorus 1
Haul the anchor………

It wasn’t all that long ago a week would be enough
Over fishing and factory ships have taken way too much
Soon there’ll be no silver, nothing left for us to catch
Seven seas of pestilence and blindmen on the watch

Chorus 2
Haul the nets home is calling
Ring the bell the glass is falling
Chase the dream search for gold
Haul the nets nothing for the hold.

Nothing for the hold.

Nothing to behold !!!

The Game

I met a friend the other day we played the game of life
We talked of joy and happiness our troubles and our strife
The game was pool we took our cues used the things with skill
For a moment we forgot Parkinson's and regained our will
We played our game we played it well although sometimes we may have missed
The shots that really mattered and sometimes double kissed.

So across the baize we shared our lives experiences too
The time went by so quickly for the shaky two
As therapies go it really was a treat
To find a friend who understands and finally meet.

The problems went like the shots pocketed and downed
Until the time had flown away and reality rebound
The parting was quite bitter sweet filled with sadness and with joy
I will miss the contest and the test of pitting each others skill
We vowed to repeat the match and hopefully we will.

Who was it who won you ask? In truth I tell you now
That two people were winners in truth I know not how!
To my opponent I will give respect and the warmth of my heart
I also give my wish that this game is just a start!
