Hi, folks!

All your poetry I love to read
And hope one day that I succeed
In expressing thoughts as well as you
And communicating feelings too.
Many thanks from this Newbie
For sharing all with others and me.

Cheers.

I don’t know what to write about!
I don’t know what to say!
My head is full of empty words,
My muse has gone away.
I will try to find her
I’m sure she’s here somewhere,
When I call she’ll come
With thoughts she’ll likely share.
A proper rounded scolding,
No more than I deserve,
Abandoning the poetry,
Really! What a nerve!
What was she to do all day?
Sit twiddling her thumbs?
While lazy mistress Lin
To self-pity she succumbs.
Perhaps we’re back together,
For now or so it seems,
Back to writing poetry,
Spinning words to capture dreams!

Hi Lin,
For you.

Salad Days
----------------------
Words flow with the emotions
Some things are hard say
But thoughts which dwell inside us all
Well,they never go away

They Twist and turn, they drift and churn
A salad tossed strains to break free
Thoughts lost in preparation then
Get stuck,won,t Lettuce see

Clinging to inside of us
Struggling for formation
Until something deep and moving
Triggers fresh words of creation

Just like salad in a sieve
Needs sorting for arrangement
With delicatessen options
To promote tastebud engagement

Onions tears shed,spring to life
Lettuce crisp brings hope refreshing
Tomatoes blush embarassed
For the total lack of dressing

Cute Cucumbers at attention
Garnished for their biggest day
Cress sprinkled grows the quickest
Erotic,in a veggie way

This Salad which has sprung to life
Won,t last,but some things may
By harnessing its crispness
Find fresh strength to face each day

See things from new perspectives
Bad days,sure,there will be some
Think Salad thoughts on cloudy days
Then bright,sunny days will come

we are not en-mused

my muse is Jezebel
unfaithful as a rule

gone for weeks
with some other poet

who probably writes
his verse in sonnet

form, well bully for him
and his verbal gym

nastics, but when you're
back it is fantastic

but as these lines show
its back to prose
for now

Ellemac - Titan - Bogman - Lin especially for you and for word weavers all

Word Weavers Return to the Loom

Word weavers we will ever be, tellers of tales and the truths we see
Life’s passions and the mundane; love conquers all to remain
To inspire us to out greatest highs gives our spirits unlooked for rise
These the tales of which we tell
Sometimes heaven and sometimes hell

Salad days and life and love, emotion seen in every verse
Tells the world of thought unstated, although to some overrated
These words and emotions we weave, so others may see,
Even in dark moments friend we weave our verse in hope
Tend to each other when we are short of rope

For in everything we can look for the positives and plan
To make the most of our existence, not take the path of least resistance
So if your plans sometimes stall don’t be bowed, let spirit fall
Weave frustration into verse tell the stories better or worse

Give us stories in which we will relate great passion
And those who wait and on whose patience we rely every day to get us by
Tell your stories cast you spell
Heal the wounds make all things well
I will read in great affection all the weavers in these collections
Now I will end this ode with the plea your tales are told to me so I may understand and see
Then in verse and with elation I will celebrate your creation.

Hello again, thanks Bogman for the warm welcome. I realised after I posted that I hadn't introduced myself, sorry. I'm amazed at the poetic talent! And Lin you're absolutely right, you can't write Yorkshire without a capital Y..
I think its a fantastic part of the world - its got soul! Love reading everyones posts in Creative Corner and the other sections of the Forum too. Off to the land of Nod now zzzzz (hopefully!)

Now I have reached the stage of not sleeping! Or rather, I fell asleep during the evening so can't sleep now! Still, it meant I could have a facebook chat with two of my nieces in America.
Probably a poem coming soon - am just thinking about it now.

By the way I enjoyed reading the posts/poems above. Thanks for thinking about me.

Lin how lovely to see
that your here again
just where you should be
I hope your head in not empty
and that your muse has now returned
giving you rhyme, thoughts and plenty
of poetry here to come

Acts Of Faith

Sometimes when your glum
You feel like life is the sum, of missed chances
All you have is backward glances
Neglect yourself like a wraith
All you need is an Act of Faith.

Not faith in the great unseen,
In some all powerful being
Just an Act of Faith in you,
That if you aim, and try your best
You will succeed and pass the test

Then if life improves in its range
Not all will alter, Not all can Change
Change your outlook don’t recoil
Often makes the passions boil
The energy thus generated
Can be channelled, so make haste
Don’t allow your dreams to waste.

An Act of Faith can produce such mirth
Increase your feelings of self worth
So now I hear what should I do?
Believe in you as I do
Aspirations will outpour
Causing your spirit to soar
Lifting you like never before.

Your life aims are now so high
Life is more than getting by
All it took to make it true?
An Act Of Faith belief in you
