Bridge of Sighs
---------------------
The light illuminous through those heat drenched glistening windows
Why does time stop listening intent upon that hour
When caught abandoned in perspirations turmoil frozen,
Obliviously aware there, for betrayers to devour
The world sleeps warm in shallow breathes harmonic
As others gasping awaken suddenly those fears
Descending then to the psychic depths dreams access
Behind that overflowing waterfall of tears
For anybody to endure would then accept that
To mimic as a puppet dangling on a string
It's those controlling who in trust your heart is then placed
Who hold that rope that holds that final bell to ring
As peeling off the outside through the layers
Desperate fingers dance upon those feelings to defile
Still standing in acceptance sounds another
Where all that's left are dreams caught distant on a smile
That distance,is now way to close for comfort
Revealing all,yet nothing,but to much
If silence is a virtue in the minds eye
Then all is empty to the ears, the sight, the touch
If only there were answers to those questions
There never will be as the incline becomes too steep
As what has gone, still remains there, never alters
So the descent in its parallel will creep
Across the heart, into the soul,it's all consuming
Wrings the last hope from the warmest, faintest breath
When searching,pleading innocent those misfortunes
Becomes a constant from conception through to death
Do not fear that which unknown which calmly beckons
As fortunes truthful hide behind that mystics eyes
Leads you down a path with frangrances now tranquil
When weeping over depths below the "Bridge of sighs"

Hello - I'm back and have read all those magnificent poems and wish I had half your vocabulary. However, for some reason, this fell out of my head and it may offend. Please don't be offended because it isnt about you. I have someone else in mind (sort of fictional) as the subject of my poem.
No way will I let you know it,
No way will I let you see,
How such whining and such moaning,
Are SO depressing me
You are not the only person
Whose life has been torn apart,
With dreams on the floor in tatters,
In the middle – a broken heart.
You’ll soon pick up the pieces,
Once more you’ll live and breathe,
Whilst I, forgotten, in the corner,
Stand still and quietly seethe.
I loved you and I showed it
In every step I took,
All those times that went unnoticed,
When you didn’t even look.
The times I held your hand, dear,
When you felt less than good.
The confidence I gave you,
Repaid in tears and blood!
Yes, sweat and tears have flowed here,
But wallowing you do best,
Go wear sackcloth and ashes,
Horse hair next to your chest.
You are not a raving beauty
Nor a star up in the sky
At an end, my tears and ranting,
Over you – no need to cry!

The Meaning of Life
A heartbeat frozen in time
A kiss on butterfly’s wings
The angler hooks a catch
A lifetime’s love in a snatch
Emotion deeper than a well
Life’s encounters make sharp
On the edge of a blade
No words spoken never gainsaid
Heart caught by heart
Where a life has bled
Live in thought in your head
Mind on fire thoughts mingle
Physicality you make me tingle
So when I have no words
I think of your heart beating
Caught in time however fleeting
For the moments that you give
Give me desire to live.

Fortress
Should we be fortresses? whose walls are never breached
Should we be recluses potential never reached
Do we take a chance on life in the hope better things?
Do we leave the hall before the fat lady sings?
Should we let down the drawbridge to those who stand outside
In the hope that we find comforters rather than those who chide
If I fly my colours from the tower in distress
Will you come to my aid, relief from all this mess!
My walls are high the battlements strong and very well defended
But like a bastion under siege I just cannot give in
You will need to demonstrate why you should come in.
So those who stand and stare looking at this keep
understand my defences and the vigil that does not sleep
But if you are persistent and are wholly true
Then defences I can open my defences and see what maybe a different view.

Angling for a fall
----------------------
When casting out that line, that hook
Or leave that net trawled capturing
Some fish are more slippery than they look
Move on to those less rapturing
The hook is bearable, but don,t gloat
That net may gather but be torn
Unless it,s buried in the throat
Or too deep from escape,forlorn
Ad Infinitum,dawns realisation
As in again you reel your prize
This fish that ends the conversation
Disappears,once more,before your eyes
As on the bank, you count the cost
It's really all that can be done
You can say this game was never lost
It's just that it was never won
Sometimes, you can be played whilst playing
Craftiness is not one way
Move on to prey who transfixed, swaying
Charmed on your plate, served for the day
Consider all the last endeavours
Is it really worth the toil
Cast aside,rod,flies and feathers
Along with hopes and dreams I foil
So turn away and hunt for another
Before you wade in much too deep
The waters and the catch could smother
Revealing all you wish to keep
As in that net, caught in illusion
There may be many,many,more
I play the game till my conclusion
Not of those stood on the shore
So considering every angle,itchin
Slang frustrated slung in time
The heat felt hot within your kitchen
So not for the pot,ive cut the line.

Time
Time heals all so the wise ones say
But some wounds are too deep
Some injuries cut to the core filled with infection
That fills the mind and body and makes toxic connection.
A wound taken that will never heal
That time I fear will turn to fettid flesh
A hurt that never fade an will carry in my soul unill my death
So for those who would avoid this fate to your self be true
Avoid those in this life who would run you through
Better stoic silence than to depend or share
For when you turn around you find theres no one really there

To bogman - further to our discussion here is my latest attempt at a sonnet. Print it and take to ceremony???
Losers
In silent thought we sit and contemplate,
To miss once more, a goal mouth gaping wide.
The smile is set, accepting second rate,
As ball rebounds and in small crowd will hide.
Fair play is best, or so the experts shout,
Find extra strength, to make the game your own.
But loss is hard, you wallow in self doubt,
Your feeble words sink like a heavy stone.
But all good things will come to those who wait,
Patience will pay, when balance in right place.
Trust and believe, success will play with fate,
That winning smile will light your solemn face.
Do not give in though others fall away,
Consider this, each dog will have his day!

F latlines
------------
Flatlines somehow appeal to me
Flatraised against the skin
Flowing with the current
Freeing that which black within
Familiar floating feelings
Fascinating to the pulse
Faintly pulsating,beckoning
Formulating to convulse
Flirting with the temporal
Fixate that basal ganglia
Forming shapes freestyle at will
Full circle to rectangular
For me there is no answer
Flick that switch on off inside
Freefalling into nothing
Forever now to hide
Freeze behind the forceps
Forced around the head
For she that bleeds maturnal
Fornicates the colour Red
Frigid from the inside
Frozen outwards from the core
Forgotten mis-conception
Flung across the floor
Floating high above I see now
Fromaging of the brain
Festering into nothingness
Fired with Parkinson insane
Fleeting as the shrillest cry
From remote and silent places
Falling by the wayside
Face confined,constricted spaces
Feelings through the roof now
Fight those strong desires
Flick knife dreams they offer,deep
Familiar bleeding fires
For what is gone is ever thus
Flat linear now that feeling
Finality is on the floor again
Face up,stare at the ceiling
Faintest sense of panic marks the
Failure in lifes race
Frequent skips that heatbeat across the
Finish line now in disgrace

That's a lot of 'f' words titan!
Does it get to you a bit when you work really hard on a poem and nobody notices?
