Good morning all,
I have just spent time reading all your poems and over the years I have known people with parkinsons's the talent you all have never suprises me it is amazing, to express your feelings putting it into words is a wonderful talent.
Do any of you know a publisher or have you approached the national office as I think you could produce a wonderful book of poems and raise some very useful money for reaserch and support for people coping day to day.
By way I worked in Armidale for a while turnip many years ago.
Do think about a book maybe Judy and Richard could help with their book club.
I hope you all have a better day today and keep the poems coming.
best wishes

Need some sleep
Wednesday is here and yet another day
Good morning is a word I'de like to say
But again last night I could not sleep
Tossed and turned bed covers in a heap
Plumped up my pillows for the hundreth time
As I heard the clock in the hallway chime
One O'clock in the morn and I'm still awake
I want to sleep for goodness sake!!!

Oh,PB, I don't know how you manage
Sleepless nights can surely cause damage
Can make you sad, can make you weep
All for the want af a good 8 hours sleep.
I'm still so lucky, better touch wood,
For I sleep all night as you should.
I hope tonight things improve for you
That you sleep well and have sweet dreams too!

Hello Turnip and thanks for reminding and remembering Anzac Day. I got up this morning at 5 and wrote the following. It is a song and one of my pals said he is sure he can set it to music. If he does then it will be a miracle because only one ever suceeded before.By the way it was going to be about PD but it ended up this way!
It’s just that I’m slow.
The tiredness is deep within my bones
If I cannot keep up boys, you must go it alone,
Remember me to the friends we have known
And tell them I’m coming it’s just that I’m slow.
Do you think they still dance in Ballinasloe
Tell Mary I’ll meet her, the place she will know
Down in our valley where rhododendrons grow
And tell her I’m coming it’s just that I’m slow.
I’m sick of the fighting I want to go home
For the killing and dying dear God I atone
Our Generals hearts must be made of stone
And tell them I’m coming it’s just that I’m slow.
I’m cold now boys I think that I will sleep
Look after my kids until they are full grown
Show them the fields where many are sown
Tell God that I’m coming it’s just that I’m slow.
When this is done take me back home
Don’t speak of deeds from the killing zone
If you remember remind them I’m not all alone
And tell them I’m coming it’s just that I’m slow.

This section of the Forum is buzzing with some fantastic poems, songs, etc. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the different styles and forms.
When/where are you going to sing your song, Bogman?

Titan - to quote ( I hope accurately) from one of your recent submissions:
"freedom of expression, yet protecting those who visit forums for that positive lift"
An absolutely brilliant sentiment

I am thrilled with your responses. They have given me such a lift after the sorrow of yesterday. If you want to know more I have posted a blog on PDJ.
I am hopeful that my musician friend will come up with a tune and he is a far better singer than me. He did however say that the lyrics had made him shiver and that he couldn't say more than that.I have to say I have been here before and nothing came of it so I will not be holding my breath.
Thanks again!
