Hi Titan I read a story in your poetry which is of despair, sadness and anger. The poetry you write is just brilliant but you do at times worry me.
Take care friend love PB x

So difficult
To wander the paths of the puzzled.
Aching hearts and tangled thoughts
Beating time, yet jangled rhythms
Resound in empty heads.
Small step….
From clear, lucidity
To muttered, mumbled, jibberish!
Write it down, you say,
Every blinking bit.
How you walk, but don’t walk,
How you ache, but don’t ache,
How you speak, but don’t speak,
How you plead,
But remain unanswered.
Let depression cloud your vision,
A massive choking curtain
Closed against the blackness.
Can it be flung open to embrace the sun?
A never-ending circle of night and day,
A roundabout of light and dark,
A wheel of uncertainty
And mis-direction.
Head bowed, scowl of discontent or terror,
Nobody knows it like you, my friend.
But where are you in this struggle?
I see myself but not the mirror image.

I have just received my first copy of 'The Parkinson', having, at last, joined the 'club'!
There is a noticeable lack of poetry in there.

For Those in peril on the sea!
CHAOS
When life troubles swirl around like eddies in troubled waters
The currents darkling churn the pools of the mind
Feelings mount and grow tidal drag
Stirring from the depths of the ocean of my soul
Salt water wells in my eyes adding to the sea swell
Waves grow and crash upon the shore of my existence
Dashing my hope on the rocks of experience and the wrecks of hope
As I flail in the sea so dark going down for the third time
Drowning in darkness and the chaos of thought
A line is thrown from the shore shouts of encouragement
The wind blows and its roar drowns out words of support
Darkness and cold steal through my mind
Soul numbed by the cold experience and cruelty
But rescuers do not flee and wade and swim to reach my pain
Shinning and warmth are they in the existence black and grey
But light hurts eyes and warmth causes harsh temperature
And I retreat to the depths of the eddying waters
Safe in the knowledge of my fate treading water exhaustion once more my companion
But light still sweeps the sea illuminating the swirling waters
Shouts of encouragement mount and can be heard above the waves
Harken to the souls who bid you well and swim for shore
Leave the water fell gain the land to take breath and rest awhile.

Parkinson’s Awareness Week (16th-22nd April?)
I do not ask for money when your budget is so tight,
Nor do I search for sympathy considering my plight.
This week is rather special to many folks like me,
Whose lives have been affected by something called P.D.
Parkinson’s the name, we don’t use the ‘D’ so much,
This week is to inform, to talk, to keep in touch.
We wish to raise awareness of the lives that people lead,
From initial diagnosis, information’s what we need.
The outward signs are tremors like shaking, trembling hands,
Inside it’s like you’re tied, with strong elastic bands.
It’s not easy to explain the way it makes you feel,
But a cure is what we need, the crux of our appeal.
Parkinson’s U.K. gives guidance and support,
Marathons are run, items made and bought.
Funds raised to help research, the new ideas we seek,
To foster understanding in Parkinson’s Awareness Week.

Mind Space
In my head I go to a place that brings me peace
Release from the trials of the day
Less turbulent than the world and its events
A small place of calm where I can be safe from harm
A place it is upon a shore where I can see the sea birds soar
Waves crash on the beach water just beyond reach
Watching here the ebb and flow, here I let my troubles go
The cliffs behind us rise like sentinels in different guise
Let me show you the shingle bank and there let your mind go blank
Shielded by the land and sea from tensions of the day
As tide turns tumultuous waters make you clean
Sweep away all confusion you may have seen
Why don’t you go there and you’ll see
How you can fill your soul with peace and make your spirit whole
In this place if you travel there you will find you may repair
Your spirit and your body, freed by a place to come to come when you need peace
The place is always there just follow and I will show you where
Take these words and you may see where it is you need to be.

How can we raise awareness - to justify our cause,
Without those unaffected, closing heavy doors?
Why should anyone care, with problems of their own?
About a non-existent cure, for a person unknown.
I’ve tried to explain what Parkinson’s about,
It affects all I do without a single doubt.
From writing a short sentence, to tapping lap-top keys,
From falling out of bed, to crawling on my knees.
The scientists are working, one day there’ll be a way
To stop the advance, hold Parkinson’s at bay,
I hope it won’t be long, a simple type of kit
No needles in the head or machinery to fit!
Until then I’ll try to suffer – ‘in silence’ as they say,
Looking forward to the time a cure is on its way.
I hope I’ve raised awareness, by the power of the pen,
A message of importance - shout over and over again.

Another one for Parkinson's Awareness
What would a cure mean to me?
Freedom from this misery.
Back to normal, no more pain,
A useful human once again!
All my worries washed away,
How I look forward to that day.
No muscle spasms in my back,
Brain sending messages, on right track!
To dress myself, not have to wait,
For pills to reach their active state,
Smile a smile that’s straight and wide,
From the heart, not paint applied.
To walk with confidence down the street,
Not shuffling on unsteady feet.
To drive the car from here to there,
Walk the dog or dance with flair.
A list so long, I must admit,
So much I’d do if I was fit.
Please find a cure so I can find
The ‘real me’, I left behind.

The above poem 'What would a cure mean to me?' has just been read out on the radio so I feel I have done a little bit for Parkinson's Awareness Week.
