Brilliant BJS.

Here is a simple rhyme from me.

A Small Plea

I hate to be a nuisance, independence is my aim,
But sometimes I’m unable to play this solitary game.

You may have to fetch and carry, things that I might need,
My pills and medication, times taken - all agreed.

So, when I ask you nicely, to bring pills of brown or white,
Please remember to bring water, so they go down alright!

If I’ve struggled for an hour to fetch my knitting bag,
If I say thank you kindly, is helping such a drag?

I know you’re not an expert, leave the knitting up to me,
But can you check the needles, I need two to knit you see!

One to hold the stiches, the other then to knit,
If one is left behind, all I can do is sit!

If I ask for the newspaper, to solve a puzzle or two,
It should go without me saying, they’ll need a pen to do.

Sudoku can be hard you know, I have to fill the chart,
If there’s nothing I can write with, it is difficult to start!

Sorry to sit and order, bring this or bring me that,
But I can’t sit doing nothing, I wasn’t made like that!

Water goes with medi, needles come in pairs,
Paper needs a pencil, I’m lucky that someone cares.

Already into the fourth month of this year
How quick time passes by, I fear
is it because I'm getting older
that I notice such things
April is here lets see what it brings

Rain they say would be very nice
but only a little, enough to suffice
Or there will be a hose-pipe ban
Well that's what he said, the weather-man

April is the month that is full of showers
Everyone saying it is good for the flowers
I do not want to wish my life away
But roll-on my favourite Month of May

April is nice , don't get me wrong
As I listen to the birds singing morning song
And notice the gardens coming to life
With trees and shrubs all in bud
I will try to embrace April, I really should.

The Fool
------------
The Fool contemplated nothing
For too long it tore a hole where nothing dwelt
Sadness held his hand, unguided through the maelstrom
As eternity stretched, then contracted in its emptiness

The bridge that linked the soul
The chain that bound the part
The hand that holds the key
The cold protects the heart

The Fool wandered down passages
Down desolate lanes which ended in the void
He stood surveying all,but blinkered could not see
The detailed view of Eagles from that Eyrie in his mind

The crossing charged the soul
The chains that broke apart
The hand then turned the Key
The Warmth flooding through the heart

The trigger finger hovers in anticipated lust
For whatever adds excitement to the pleasure
Waiting for the end or starting a fresh chapter
The tremor wraps a seal around the guilt

The souring of the Eagle in the soul
The chains lie there discarded, must restart
The hand still has control over the key
The safe place of protection in the heart

As looking back and wondering, swinging on the guilt
The Fool sees what is left and tries to stop
The eyes open to the magnitude, the trails which wrought disaster
Whilst negativity was just the yarn that knit the gloom

The swooping dive from thrills within the soul
The untethered lies there gasping to impart
The Future awaits, the fool can use his key for
The locking of the mind to free the heart

Now at last where once Nothing filled his dungeon,
The Fool rebuilds his castle from the dust that's left behind
Can,t shake of the regrets, but lowers the drawbridge for his Queen
With fresh transcripts signed in blood on bended knee

The realisation opens up his soul
The chains link lovingly now chart
The path in life that holds the key
The love that motivates the heart

HEARTSTRUCK

An expression of love may be given
With dignity and emotion
Love’s display free devotion

A love of heart and soul
With you the life I have is whole
In your radiance my life is made complete
You are my wife and life is sweet.

With you no one is ever mad
Because your countenance is glad
You are my friend
My soul mate too, I’d do anything for you.

When I was diagnosed with PD
You shed the tears of love for me
I love you always and forever
Love is ever yours

From your husband who may
Make more than the occasional mistake
Never doubt my resolution to be your love and
solution to any trouble life may bring
for your love still makes me king.

CLIFF TOP

Stood I on the precipice,
And called to the ravine,
God forsake I'll cast myself,
And fly the painless dream,
But thoughts of those to be left behind,
Weld me like a rock,
That despite erosion must stay strong,
Stubbornly avoiding gravity's drop,
And once again I filled my lungs,
And screamed above the howling wind,
You will not consume me in your craggy depths,
For I will soar again,
On thermals I will fly,
And higher than the eagle friend,
This is no way for anyone to die,
This is no way for life to end.
