I haven't got the time to go through all the posts on the 'Carers, friend and family' section to pick out what I consider to be the best. However I would like to say that when my husband was experiencing obsessional behaviour due to DA's this section was invaluable to me. I could liaise with other people who were experiencing the same things and realise I was not going mad. It was a horrible, lonely time and something that I do not think I will ever get over. I have been in touch with with some lovely people who have been through the same hell. It is refreshing now to see that there are not so many people having to go through this due to the awareness of what these drugs can do and the publicity that has highlighted it.

I just want to echo what Libralady says.
I found many wonderful supportive friends and so much information in the many DA/OCD threads.
Without these wonderful people I doubt my husband and I would have survived the horror. The love and care carry on as we learn to live a post-DA life through posts, phone calls and PMs.
Love
GG

I echo that too, sometimes you just have a really bad short time and if you can get on the forum and type it all out, what is happening, and then a bit later you can go on and you've got some replies and then things get better again but you just got that support when you needed it without having to ring someone up and take up their time or find out if it is convenient to talk or not or make an appointment to chat or anything you can just get on here and just typing out the problem is therapeutic in itself . People who reply are supportive and understand because they are having same type of problems, yes really good love Sunray

Hi libralady,
Of course, it would really take some doing to go through all the posts. That would be asking a lot of community members!

You don't need to do that. But, if you come across some threads or posts that you thought were very useful and that others could benefit by, let us know. We'll keep this thread open for suggestions so just keep it in the back of your mind as you go along using the forum.

goldengirl,
We're definitely aware of how much help the Impulsive and compulsive behaviour threads have been. That's why we set up a particular forum for them. We can always add threads to this section.

Thanks all.

Hello Ezinda,

Just been reading the threads you mentioned from feb and from Ray and Titan, what a true picture of life with pd. I feel for everyone especially Titan as my understanding is that although it is very hard for all the family people with PD can't help being so say difficult, it is mainly due to the condition and medication. It certainly is the most frustrating illness for everyone to understand and live with. We are in the advanced stage pd and of my husband being in a nursing home and none of us are happy about it but his behaviour is just too difficult for me to manage even with 24hour care, we have tried everything and I always want to just bring him home, but he is getting too difficult for even them to manage so I don't know where we will go from here. Please let us have more care and training for all the many people living with this long and complicated condition.
Please Titan never feel bad about talking about life with PD you are all so brave I don't know how you do it.That goes for carer's as well
best wishes
