Hi all,
As promised, we've set up this thread as a space for community suggestions, complaints and compliments.
From time to time we may open thread to discuss particular issues affecting the community but this one is more open and general.
We're making it a sticky for the time being so you can always find it at the top of the "About the forum" section.
As always, if you prefer to contact us by email, please click on "Contact moderator" on the left or write to us at forum(at)parkinsons.org.uk.

This perhaps is the same as ali's, but this is the slowest of the sites that I use, it is so frustratingly slow to find things.

Hi Mosie. On Friday last week we made some changes to improve the problem with slowness so hopefully you will should be seeing some improvements in response time when you move around the forum. I've put some more information on the changes in 'About the forum' too.
Thanks for reporting the issue, Liz

Hi all
Yes, the change in your post numbers you have noted is related to the social club archiving that we had to do last Friday following problems with slowness. So if you're a very active social club user you will notice a reduction in your post count. I mentioned earlier that some of the word game threads were up to 100 pages in length - which could see a single user generate several hundred posts per thread! No posts from other areas of the forum were archived. And we are pleased to see that this has improved performance.
I mentioned in a previous post that we will give you more information about our plans in coming weeks: http://bit.ly/AnfiJS
Unfortunately we can't provide a date and time for the new forum yet - what we can say is that the new forum is going to be a key part of a new version of our website - and it's a pretty enormous piece of work for us! Shortly we'll be able to share with you the results of the research we have been doing and how this is going to shape our next website and online community.
And at the same time as this planning, we are also working hard to keep the existing forum up and running. So there's a lot to do. We really want you to be a part of this process, so we will continue to post updates in About the forum as we have more information.
Best, Liz

Are post counts really that important, i think not !
Quality of posts is far more beneficial for the community than quantity IMHO

Dear Kyloe,
I do so agree with you. I have never understood why the number of posts seems to be such an important issue. In fact, I feel that the content and quality of the posting is more important than the name of the poster, let alone how many posts he or she may have made.
With best wishes
AB
