Virgin London Marathon
The Virgin London Marathon is an experience you will never
forget!

miles
- Minimum
Sponsorship: £1,700 Gold Bond place (if you have your own
place there is no minimum target)
This race begins in Greenwich Park where you will see the Charlton
Football Ground and the Cutty Sark, before crossing the famous
Tower Bridge.
The route takes you to the financial district of Canary Wharf,
before passing the Crown Jewels displayed in the historic Tower of
London.
You will run past London Bridge, Tate Modern and the
London Eye before finishing your final mile, where you will see the
Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace.
Ballot places
The online entry system for the 2010 Virgin London Marathon has
closed in record time. If you have already entered the ballot you
will be notified whether you have been successful or not at the end
of September 2009.
If you receive a place we would love to you to join our team. There
is no minimum sponsorship target and every penny you raise will
make a difference to people with Parkinson's.
Applying for a Gold Bond place
If you would like to apply for a Parkinson's Disease
Society (PDS) Gold Bond place, please complete our
runner registration form (Word,
179KB) and return it to us.
The PDS ballot will close on Friday 30 October 2009 and all
applicants will be notified by Friday 6 November 2009.
Why join the PDS Virgin London Marathon team?
The
Parkinson's Disease Society aims to provide support and advice to
all people with Parkinson's, their friends, family and carers. Your
support will allow us to continue our work into treatments and a
cure. The time is now to help us raise the funds needed to improve
the lives of people with Parkinson's.
The Events team will be with you all the way through your training
and fundraising as well as on the day to cheer you on.
We'll give you:
- Up to date information and support
- Fundraising advice
- PDS breathable running vest
- Supporter points along the route for your friends and
family
- Post-race reception with FREE massage, showers, and buffet
