Volunteer your time
Our work to find a
cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson's would not be possible without our
volunteers.
There are many ways to get involved:
Meet some of our volunteers and
supporters and find out why they decided to volunteer their
time.
Volunteer with a local group
Volunteering with one of our local
groups is a good way to meet new people and get involved with
the local community.
Our groups are run locally and offer information, social
activities and practical help. They fundraise for local and
national activities and also raise awareness of Parkinson's.
Contact the branch and volunteer support officer in your region or country to find out about
volunteering opportunities near you.
Fundraise
Volunteering for me is not only a way of saying thank you, it also gives me an immense sense of purpose.
You could hold your own event
- either turn your favourite sporting event into a fundraising
activity or hold a social event to raise funds. How about
a Party for Parkinson's?
Our work is totally dependent on donations. Whether you raise £5
or £500, you can make a difference.
There are also lots of events you can
take part in - from walking events right up to adventurous sports.
If you can't take part yourself, why not volunteer to cheer
other people on?
Campaign
Join our National Campaigns Network
to get regular updates about our national campaigning work and find
out how you can get involved.
Together we can fight for a fairer deal for people affected by
Parkinson's.
Join our Policy Panel
Are you interested in joining our Policy
Panel to help us to form our official opinions on major public
policy issues?
The experiences and views of people affected by Parkinson's is
central to our policy work. You don't have to be an expert.
Share your story with the media
Do you have a story to share? If you have Parkinson's or you're
a carer or health or social care professional, we are always
looking for people like you who are willing to share your story with the media.
Get involved in research
Without your support our research towards a cure for Parkinson's
could not happen. There's a variety of ways in which you can
get involved in our research.
Review our publications
Sign up to one of our information review
groups and help us create and review our publications.
One group is for people with Parkinson's, relatives and friends.
The other is for health and social care professionals who work with
people with Parkinson's.
