Well done to our
Stafford Castle walkers!
Congratulations to our 120 supporters who took part in the
Stafford Castle Walk on 20 May
2012!
Adults, children and lots of dogs gathered at Stafford Rugby
Club to enjoy a 3, 7 or 10 mile walk following paths and bridleways
around Stafford Castle.
They hope to raise £5,000 which will go
towards research to help us find a cure
for Parkinson's.
Thank you to our Hardest Hit supporters
A big thank you to everyone affected by Parkinson's
who came out in Birmingham on Saturday 22 October 2011, as
part of the
Hardest Hit rallies and marches that took place across the
UK.
Around 5,000 people came out at rallies and marches across the
UK to show government just how unfair these cuts are.
The message to government was that people with disabilities and
conditions such as Parkinson's are being unfairly targeted by the
coalition government's cuts programme.
You can see all our photos from the weekend's marches and
rallies across the UK on our
Flickr page.
Parkinson's advice sessions
We regularly run drop-in sessions for anyone affected by
Parkinson's. Advice, information and
support on all non-medical aspects of life with Parkinson's is
provided. See our Events page for
details of forthcoming sessions.
If you need support and advice in the meantime please contact
your local information and
support worker.
Roy cycles from John O'Groats to Land's End
On Saturday 2 July
2011 Roy Lodge, an ex Mayor of
Stratford-upon-Avon, arrived safely at Land's End after over
89 hours in the saddle.
At the age of 73 Roy decided to challenge himself to raise as
much as he could for Parkinson's UK by cycling from John O'Groats
to Land's End.
With his wife Gina driving the route alongside to provide
support, refreshments and encouragement Roy set off on his
amazing adventure.
Covering a total of 900 miles over just 13 days Roy
performed a great feat battling traffic, pot holes and the British
weather conditions before arriving safely in Land's End.
Thank you to Roy and Gina for their support.
Get involved in fundraising
There are so many ways that you can help us to help people
affected by Parkinson's, and ensure people in the West Midlands get
the support they need.
Organise an event
- Hold a Party for
Parkinson's
- Involve your company, workplace or social
club
Whether you want to hold a one-off event to
support us, or make us your charity of the year, we would love to
hear from you.
- Hold your own
event
You may already be taking part in a run,
skydive or abseil or perhaps you're holding your own event. Why not
support us by simply adding sponsorship, an auction or raffle?
Other ways
- Give in
celebration
Instead of presents on your birthday,
anniversary or wedding, why not ask friends and family to donate?
Our complimentary gift cards can be sent out to guests with your
invitations and we can tell you how much you've raised and how your
donation has helped those with Parkinson's.
- Make a donation today to help
people with Parkinson's
- Trusts and foundations
