Peru challenge

Machu PicchuDavid Richards, Chair of our Folkestone and Dover Branch, has set himself a spectacular challenge to complete a 5 day trek in Peru including the 4,600m (15,000ft) Lost City of Macchu Pichu.

David, one of the region's longest serving committee members is organising a number of fundraising events to raise at least £3,500 by September 2012 for our vital work to find a cure for Parkinson's.

We wish him well and if you would like to support him please contact Nansubuga Kolawole, Branch and Volunteer Support Officer on 0844 225 3664 or email bvso.southeast@parkinsons.org.uk.

Get involved in fundraising

There are so many ways that you can help us to help people affected by Parkinson's, and ensure people in the South East get the support they need.

  • Hold a Party for Parkinson's
  • Involve your company, workplace or social club
Whether you want to hold a one-off event to support people with Parkinson's, or make us your charity of the year, we would love to hear from you. There are many exciting ways in which you and your colleagues and friends can get involved.
  • Hold your own event
You may already be organising a local event - anything from an art exhibition to a weekend ramble. Why not support us by simply adding sponsorship, an auction or a raffle to your existing plans?
  • Give in celebration
Why not celebrate your birthday, anniversary or wedding by asking your friends and family to donate to the us instead of giving presents? Lora Hayden and her husband gave one of our pin badges to all their wedding guests who made a donation.
  • Trusts and foundations
Help us to support more people with Parkinson's in the South East. Find out about opportunities to fund a range of projects in the region, from nursing posts to education initiatives.
