NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde plans to close Lightburn
Hospital
Our response to NHS
Greater Glasgow and Clyde's consultation on service changes in
North and East Glasgow (Word, 230KB)
We want NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to reconsider its
proposals to close the Lightburn Hospital in East Glasgow, which
provides a highly valued rehabilitation service to people with long
term conditions including Parkinson's. The Parkinson's UK Lightburn
Support Group has run a local campaign to oppose the Health Board's
plans.

Scottish Government plans to reform the Blue Badge Scheme
Our response to the
Scottish Government's consultation on Blue Badge Reform (Word,

We asked people with Parkinson's from across Scotland to tell us
what they thought about the Blue Badge scheme. They told us that
they want the Scottish Government to consider the needs of people
with Parkinson's when it changes the criteria for awarding a blue
badge.
They asked for entitlement to be assessed by professionals with
knowledge of Parkinson's, and said that they think that disabled
people should not have to pay to park, or be subjected to
unreasonable time restrictions when using their blue badge.

the Scottish Parliament End of Life Assistance Bill Committee's

The Scottish Parliament's Bill Committee asked for organisations
and individuals to make submissions on Margo MacDonald MSP's
proposed Member's Bill covering assisted dying in Scotland.
We were also invited to give oral evidence to the Committee in

This outlines the implications for people with Parkinsons's in
Scotland if the UK Government goes ahead with its proposal to
abolish Attendance Allowance and Disability Living Allowance for
the over 65s throughout the UK.
It was used to brief MSPs for a debate in the Scottish
Parliament.
