Hardest Hit event on disability benefits, Birmingham
A big thank you to everyone affected by Parkinson's
who came out in Birmingham on Saturday 22 October 2011, as
part of the
Hardest Hit rallies and marches that took place across the
UK.
Around 5,000 people came out at rallies and marches across the
UK to show government just how unfair these cuts are.
The message to government was that people with disabilities and
conditions such as Parkinson's are being unfairly targeted by the
coalition government's cuts programme.
You can see all our photos from the weekend's marches and
rallies across the UK on our
Flickr page.

Supporter news
John O'Groats to Land's End
On
Saturday 2 July 2011 Roy Lodge, an ex Mayor of
Stratford-upon-Avon, arrived safely at Land's End after over
89 hours in the saddle.
At the age of 73 Roy decided to challenge himself to raise as
much as he could for Parkinson's UK by cycling from John O'Groats
to Land's End.
With his wife Gina driving the route alongside to provide
support, refreshments and encouragement Roy set off on his
amazing adventure.
Covering a total of 900 miles over just 13 days Roy
performed a great feat battling traffic, pot holes and the British
weather conditions before arriving safely in Land's End.
Thank you to Roy and Gina for their support.
Congratulations to our runners
Well done to our team of 25 runners who took part in the
Birmingham Black Country Half Marathon on 2 July 2011. So far our
runners have raised over £2,500.
Despite the heat all our runner enjoyed the 13.1 mile route
along the canal tow path from Wolverhampton to Birmingham.
Thanks also to all our volunteers who gave out medals and water
to the finishers and packed goody bags.
Royal wedding extravaganza
Over 200 guests celebrated the royal wedding in Worcestershire
on 29 April 2011. Guests were treated to a champagne reception
followed by wedding breakfast, speeches by the 'celebrity' wedding
party and dancing.
The event raised a fantastic £4,700 towards our vital work.
Thanks to Fews Marquees, and Hanbury and
Bromsgrove Farmers for helping to organise the event. Organisers
donned celebrity masks donated by Mask-arade to add a splash of
glamour to the event.
Stafford Castle Walk
Congratulations to our 100 supporters who took part
in the Stafford Castle Walk on 15 May.
With a choice of 3, 7 or 10 mile routes circling Stafford Castle
and the scenic Staffordshire countryside, there was a distance to
suit everyone.
Over £5,000 has been raised from the event. Top fundraiser
Michael Boult, raised a massive £861 to bag himself 3 months
free membership at Gym &
Tonic, Stafford's premier health and fitness centre.
