Our Scotland team provides a range of support and information services for people with Parkinson's, professionals, carers, and individuals or groups who may want to volunteer, fundraise, campaign or support our work.

Our information and support workers provide one-to-one information and support to people with Parkinson's, their families and carers. This may include benefits advice, emotional support and links to local and other services.

Our Information and Support Manager is responsible for the provision of information and support to people with Parkinson's, their families and those involved in providing care locally. He manages our information and support workers, builds and develops networks with other organisations that can help and organises information events across the region.

 

 

Branch and volunteer support

 

We have over 30 branches and support groups in Scotland, providing a local network of support for people affected by Parkinson's. Groups meet regularly and hold events including social activities, fundraisers, exercise classes and more. Our Branch and Volunteer Support Officers can put you in touch with groups in your area.

 

Our Branch and Volunteer Support Officers provide support to local branches and support groups, and can help set up new groups and build links with other branches and national office. They also look after branch volunteers.

Fundraising

 

Our Fundraiser offers advice and support to anyone in Scotland interested in raising money for us. She works with branches and support groups, members, companies, Trusts and individual supporters to help them with their fundraising activities. To find out more contact:

 

 

Working to improve local services

 

We are working to encourage real changes and improvements in how the NHS and social care services work with people living with Parkinson's.

Scottish Parliament and campaigns

 

All decisions about Scottish health and social care are made at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh. Our Parliamentary and Campaigns Officer campaigns to make sure that the voices of the 10,000 people with Parkinson's in Scotland, their families and carers are heard in Holyrood and the Scottish Government. Scotland Manager

 

The Scotland Manager oversees the activities of the Scotland team and manages the development of our services and support across Scotland.   • Approximately 10,000 people with Parkinson's, which is around 1 in 500 of the population
  • Over 1,300 Parkinson's UK members
  • Over 30 branches and support groups managed by volunteers
