Trans Pennine Trail cycle ride
August Bank Holiday weekend saw a group of supporters set off
from Southport aiming to cover the whole of the Trans Pennine Trail on
bikes by Sunday 29 August - all 215 miles!
The event, organised by members and
supporters George Spencer (from our Barnsley group) and David Greaves, raised
money towards research into Parkinson's.
We're hugely grateful for the time, effort and energy that
has been put into organising such a fantastic event and
raising money for our work.

glorious weather were Stephen Eyre, Jimmy Connelly, Andy Draper,

Biking from Ashton to Matlock
On 15 August 2010, Joyce Hawcourt of Aston under Lyne undertook
a very special sponsored event to raise
money and awareness for Parkinson's UK.
Joyce, aged 71, together with 50 bikers from the Stalybridge
Bike Club organised a sponsored motorbike ride from Ashton under
Lyne to Matlock Bath.
Joyce also took part in the ride using a trike bike.
After the ride they returned to the Guzzling Goose pub in Ashton
for an afternoon of live music entertainment and raffles.
We're extremely grateful to Joyce and her family and friends for
working so hard to raise money for our work.
