Canterbury and District Branch
We offer information, friendship and support to local people
with Parkinson's, their families and
carers.
We also organise a range of regular
events and social activities including:
- Monthly branch meetings: we meet for a chat
and enjoy events, entertainment and visiting speakers. For details
of Branch meetings, please see our events
page.
- Walks and other social events and
outings: see our events page
for details.
- Fundraising events and collections: these are
held each year to raise funds for branch activities and
to contribute to national research projects.
Contacts
View our local support contacts page
for details of support available to your area including:
- Parkinson's nurses: we have 3 Parkinson's
nurses covering our area of Kent. They come to meetings when
possible, and even walks! You can contact them with questions or
problems without going through a doctor or social worker
- Information and support worker and branch welfare
team: We have an information and support worker covering
our area as well as our branch volunteer welfare team. They can
provide information on respite care, holidays and equipment and can
advise on the benefits currently available and give help with
completing the necessary forms.
- For general enquiries about the Canterbury branch, please
contact
Jean on the details listed below.
The Canterbury Branch is proud to have Very Rev. Robert Willis,
Dean of Canterbury as our President. He takes an active interest in
our branch and hosts our Annual Garden Gathering each summer at The
Deanery, within the Cathedral Precincts.
