Branch Treasurer
This is a generic description for the volunteer role of Branch
Treasurer. Commitment requirements may vary slightly from branch to
branch.
Purpose of the role
To provide accounting support to the branch, to ensure that
financial transactions are recorded accurately and in time for
meetings such as committee meetings and the annual general
meeting.
Commitment expected
It is envisaged that the hours for this role should be no more
than 6 hours per month. These will be flexible home-based hours
with attendance at committee meetings being additional and as
pre-arranged and agreed as a committee.
Description of tasks
- To keep account of the branch's financial transactions
- To open and maintain branch bank accounts to the optimum
benefit of the branch
- To supply the committee with regular reports of the branch's
financial status
- To arrange for branch accounts to be examined (where necessary)
and send the completed annual financial return to National Office
within agreed timescales
- To present final accounts at the branch annual general
meeting
- To arrange collection of local membership subscriptions (where
appropriate and no membership secretary in place)
- To ensure that the branch's financial resources meet its
present and future commitments within the Parkinson's UK
recommended limits
