Self-management facilitator - Belfast & Ballymena
You'll lead a group of people with Parkinson's and their carers through our self-management programme.
2.5 hours per week
Belfast and Ballymena, Northern Ireland
WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES
Self-management facilitators use their first-hand, personal experience of Parkinson's to lead a group of 12 people with Parkinson's and their carers through our self-management programme.
You'll closely follow the facilitator's guide to deliver the programme, encouraging people, keeping to time, and feeding back to the self-management team about the group's progress.
WHAT YOU COULD GET OUT OF VOLUNTEERING
Facilitating self-management groups is a great way to use your existing skills, share insights and experiences, and support others.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR AND WHY
- experience of positively self-managing your own Parkinson's, or a current role as a partner or carer for someone with Parkinson's
- experience of talking, interacting, and working in similar groups with peers
- experience of handling personal, confidential information
