This module is taught through e-learning and 3 days on-site teaching.

The module is provided by Newcastle University. Module dates are 30 January to 15 June 2012.

The module may be taken as part of the Masters of Clinical Research Programme.

It can also be taken as a stand-alone paper to contribute to Continuing Professional Development (20 credits).

It's designed for students who wish to advance their knowledge, research skills and professional practice in the rehabilitation of movement disorders.

The main focus of the module is Parkinson's but it also covers other movement disorders.

Who's the course for?

The module is designed for:

  • physiotherapists
  • occupational therapists
  • speech and language therapists
  • doctors 
  • others with a special interest in rehabilitation of movement disorders

How the course is delivered

The paper is distance-taught through e-learning.

There will be 3 days on-site teaching at Newcastle University (a 2-day seminar followed by a 1-day seminar at a later date).

The module leader is Professor Lynn Rochester, Professor of Movement Disorders at the Clinical Ageing Research Unit, Newcastle University.
