Helpline - information for professionals
As well as providing support, advice and information to people
with Parkinson's, their carers, families and
friends, our free and confidential
helpline 0808 800 0303 provides information on best practice to
health and social care professionals involved in the management and
care of Parkinson's.
Whether you are a therapist (speech and language, occupational
or physiotherapist), doctor, GP, neurologist, care of the elderly
physician or member of staff at a care home, the helpline can
provide general or specific Parkinson's information.
Some of the most common enquiries relate to:
- medication information and availability of new and existing
drugs
- symptoms management (motor and non-motor)
- side effects
- adverse reactions and contraindications
- the availability of a Parkinson's nurse
We also provide information to social care professionals, for
example social workers, adult care teams, care home staff on
understanding the needs of people with Parkinson's and their carers
in different care settings.
