NICE Guideline for Parkinson's disease

In June 2006 the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) published a clinical guideline on the diagnosis and management of Parkinson's disease in primary and secondary care.

The guideline, which was developed by the National Collaborating Centre for Chronic Conditions, uses best available evidence to make recommendations for the care of people with Parkinson's, from diagnosis through to palliative care.

The full guideline, summary versions and supporting documents are available from the NICE website

The NICE guideline is applicable to the NHS in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Scottish Intercollegiate Guideline Network (SIGN) began to develop a Parkinson’s disease guideline for Scotland in May 2007.
