Challenge

In 2001 the Movement Disorder Service at Stobhill Hospital in Glasgow was developed with the support of Dr Davie, a Consultant Care of the Elderly Physician with a special interest in Parkinson's. The Parkinson's Disease Society assisted in setting up the service and provided the first year's funding for a Parkinson's Disease Nurse Specialist.

Over the years the service has developed and the team members decided to apply for the Charter Mark Award. This is a Government recognised award for excellence in healthcare delivery. Recipients of the award also benefit from ideas on how to continue to move their services forward.
