For people in full or part-time work the diagnosis of
Parkinson's will raise many questions. However, with careful
management, some people can continue to work for many years.
If the work situation creates practical problems, an
occupational therapist can be asked to carry out an assessment and
advise on practical solutions.
If you decide to stop working, it is important to carefully
consider the emotional, practical and financial considerations
involved. It is worth talking to employers, professional
organisations or trade unions to establish the most
favourable terms and timing.
