Annual General Meeting 2012
Our congratulations to those newly elected trustees and our sincere thanks to Iain who retired from the Board.
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place in London on
Saturday 8 September 2012.
The AGM is held each year to carry out
the formal business as set out in our governing document, the
Articles of Association.
It's also an opportunity for members to
come together to celebrate and showcase the work of the
charity.
The meeting was opened with a session bringing
together people's enthusiasm, experience, information and pictures
from the Parkinson's UK Together
events.
The Chair and Honorary Treasurer then
presented the Trustees' annual report and accounts which
included a review of the charity’s activities and achievements
over the previous financial year.
Trustee election
The election result for 2 trustee vacancies
were also declared at the AGM: 1 for Scotland and 1 for
Wales.
In total we had 5 very strong candidates
stand for election. Teresa Watson (Scotland) was elected
as trustee and Alun Morgan
(Wales) was re-elected.
This therefore marked the last AGM for Iain
Young, Trustee for Scotland, who had come to the end of his tenure
after being involved with Parkinson's UK since
2004.
Our congratulations to those newly elected
trustees and our sincere thanks to Iain
who retired from the Board.
