Why we're calling for free prescriptions

Many people with Parkinson's have to pay for their prescriptions. This can be very expensive. We're worried that some people may not be taking all the medication they need because they can't afford it.

How you can help to change this

Campaign for free prescriptions in England

We're worried that some people may not be taking all the medication they need because they can't afford it.

The situation varies in the different countries in the UK:

  • In Wales prescription charges have been abolished.
  • Prescription charges are being phased out in Northern Ireland.
  • In Scotland prescription charges have been abolished.
  • In England, however, younger people with Parkinson's face paying charges for many years.

Prescription Charges Coalition

We work with other charities in the Prescription Charges Coalition to show that this is a promise that has been made to millions of people.
