Election 2010: Making Parkinson's a priority
The
2010 general election may be over, but our campaigning is not. We
will be asking you to contact your new MP soon, making sure that
the new government makes Parkinson’s a priority.

The election campaign
You made a massive difference to the campaign:
- 301 emails were sent from people like to you to parliamentary
candidates across the UK.
- 181 emails were sent to the party leaders.
- 171 emails were sent to the party heath spokespeople.
This was a fantastic response and had a huge impact.
232 parliamentary candidates signed up to our manifesto - 3 pledges for Parkinson's, of
which 55 got elected to Parliament. Our manifesto sets out the key
priorities that people affected by Parkinson's want from the
government. They are:
- Fair access to health and social care
- Access to the right benefits and financial support
- Government commitment to invest in a cure and better
treatments
